"Tear Drops Of Pain", or when an unknown cat drops a little known real gem, considered by many G-Rap collectors as one of the best releases outta Chi-Town, and without any big name on it except for Pit from the Las Vegas, NV, Gangsta Rap group Doomsday Productions, who's surprisingly featured on a track.
As far we know, "Tear Drops Of Pain" is the only release by Trigga. It came out in 1998 on Hard Head Entertainment, and it's dedicated to Trigga's little brother, deceased in 1993.
Trigga the "Chi-Town Assassin" brings the heat almost alone with the only help of Mista Kan, who produces the beats with him, and a few rappers and singers. That's it... And there's no need for more because the whole album is very consistent and of exceptional quality and because Trigga got the flows, lyrics and charisma to handle this.
The beats are straight fire, with that "Midwest Mobb" sound (the album doesn't have the typical wicked and gritty Chi-Town sound like Drama Ward or Crucial Conflict). They perfectly fit the Gangsta vibe of the album and Trigga's deep voice.
Trigga's flow is top notch. He sometimes uses a fast pace and sometimes slows it down. Another thing is that he's sometimes rough and sometimes humming. He even sings on a few choruses. His lyrics are on point. They're violent with some sadness to them. There's no ballin' and flossin' right here. It's just Chi-Town street stories to your ears.
Overall, the result is 16 tracks that are straight bullets and that you can listen over and over without getting bored. It's very hard to pick up one or two songs, but lets' mention the melodious "Take A Ride", the heavy "Welcome To My City", the hypnotic "Smokin Chronic", "Funk" and the street tale "Life of a Murdera".
If you love rap music, you need to check this (some tracks are on Youtube). Unfortunately, this album is very hard to find and expensive, even the repress (around 50 $). Too bad...
