Well, this one is for the real collectors of that smooooth west coast thang...

Tee-One comes from San Diego aka Dago and that's almost everything we know about him. "Down 4 Mine" came out in 1995 on TJD Records. It's his only release and the first release of the label that dropped 2 years later another tape of another local rapper, Fatal ("Eyes on Tha Prize", that also featured Tee-One).

This tape also has just one song, with the instrumental on the other side, but it's a dope one. It's the kind of song that stays in you head "on and on and till the break of dawn / and ain't nothin' goin' on but a funky song", as Tee-One spits.

The smooth feel of this track has clearly a lot to do with the classic sample of "For The Love Of You" of the Isley Brothers, used one more time but no complaints here. As usual, you just want to chill when you hear it...

And as Tee-One's flow and voice fit very well with that smooth thing, it makes as a whole a very nice song, that's worth listening to (there's a snippet on youtube).

Hard to find stuff though, if you want to buy it...
